Women of Winter Falls Creek Networking Evening

On behalf of Snow Australia's Women of Winter (WoW), we welcome you to the Falls Creek industry networking evening. This event will be held on Tuesday July 29 at Attunga Lodge, from 6pm.

The networking evening is an opportunity to make connections with others employed in our diverse snow industry, and create an awareness of career opportunities within the community.

Whether you are a seasoned professional or new to the industry, this event is aimed at promoting and supporting the presence of women in the industry and increasing awareness of career paths.

The evening will feature a panel discussion exploring career pathways within the snow industry. A group of accomplished women, each with a wealth of experience, will share insights and reflections from their journeys within the industry.

Tickets are $20 per person, which includes food. There will also be a cash bar.

Meet the Panellists


Kerry lee-dodd

Kerry began her journey in the snow industry in 1974, teaching skiing part-time at Falls Creek. Since then, her career has spanned continents and disciplines, with extensive seasons in Austria, the USA, and Japan. Kerry holds certifications across multiple countries, including Austria, the USA, and Australia, and is a Level 2 Trainer with additional qualifications in Telemark (Level 1), Cross Country, and Snowboard.

While completing her Bachelor of Education at the University of Wollongong, Kerry continued to teach part-time at Thredbo. She later became the Snowsports Director at Mt Buffalo from 1993 to 1997.
Her leadership roles include serving as President of the Australian Professional Snowsport Instructors (APSI) from 1992 to 2000 and contributing as a Board Member of Interski, where she played a key role in organizing the 1999 event in Norway.

Currently, Kerry is deeply involved in youth development and education. She coaches the U10s at Falls Creek, coordinates the Falls Creek Winter Alpine Academy—a tutor-based program supporting the education of local families—and works with Myoko Snowsports in Japan.

 

Grace Falconer-smith

Grace began her career in hospitality during her first winters at Falls Creek, eventually becoming Operations Manager at QT Falls Creek in 2016. In 2017, she transitioned into human resources, balancing distance university studies with hands-on experience. Grace has since held HR roles with both Falls Creek Ski Lifts and Alpine Resorts Victoria. She currently serves as the Acting Business Partner for People and Culture at Alpine Resorts Victoria, where she continues to support and develop the region’s alpine workforce

 

Nichole mckilliam

Nichole began her snowsports journey at Falls Creek in 2009 at just 17 years old. With nearly 17 winters under her belt, she now calls Falls Creek home year-round. Her international experience includes two winter seasons in Japan and four in Austria, enriching her global perspective on alpine instruction. Nichole has held her APSI Alpine Full Certification since 2017, along with Adaptive and Anwärter Snowboard certifications, reflecting her versatile and inclusive approach to snowsports education.

 



This event is brought to you by the Women of Winter initiative which aims to champion and empower Snowsports Women to reach their full potential through professional development, training and networking opportunities, leading to an increase of women working and volunteering in the Snowsports Industry.
