Para Pathway Activities in Full Swing

Published Fri 17 Jul 2026

There has been plenty of activity right across the Snow Australia Para Pathway this month, with athletes, coaches, volunteers and newcomers taking part in a series of camps and events designed to develop the next generation of para snowsport athletes.

From snowboard development camps through to the inaugural Futures Fundamental Camp and the upcoming Adaptive Festival at Falls Creek, July has highlighted the continued growth and momentum of Para snowsports across Australia.

Snowboard Development Camp | 9–13 July

The season’s first Para Snowboard Development Camp took place at Perisher, bringing athletes together for several days of focused training and development.

The camp combined on-snow coaching with video analysis, gym training and yoga, giving athletes the opportunity to improve their technical skills, physical preparation and overall performance.

It was a great first snowboard camp for the season, with athletes making strong progress and building valuable connections within the team environment.

Futures Fundamental Camp | 13–16 July

Following the snowboard camp, Snow Australia delivered its first ever Futures Fundamental Camp, in partnership with Paralympics Australia and the Green and Gold Futures program.

The camp was created as a stepping stone between Adaptive Festivals and Snow Australia Development Camps, providing participants with the opportunity to build confidence, develop fundamental skills and become more independent on snow.

Throughout the four days, participants focused on the basic skills required to improve their skiing and snowboarding. All of the participants spent plenty of time riding, learning and having fun in a supportive environment.

Milano-Cortina 2026 Paralympian Liana France also joined the camp, skiing alongside participants, sharing her experiences and encouraging everyone as they developed their skills. Her involvement was a special highlight and showed participants what is possible through the Para Pathway.

The final day provided another memorable moment, with many participants entering their first ever multiclass race. It was an exciting opportunity to experience competition, put their new skills into practice and finish the camp on a high.

Adaptive Festival Heads to Falls Creek

The busy month continues with the Adaptive Festival at Falls Creek from 17–19 July, marking the first time the event has been held in Victoria.

The festival will welcome adaptive skiers and snowboarders of all abilities for a weekend of learning, community and fun on snow. It will bring together athletes, families, volunteers and supporters while showcasing the growing opportunities available within adaptive snowsports.

Snow Australia Para Pathway Manager Bobbi Kelly said the busy calendar reflected the continued growth of the pathway.

“It is really exciting to see so many events taking place across the Para Pathway. With more activity comes more opportunities for people to get involved, whether that is athletes taking their first steps into the sport, progressing through the pathway or volunteers wanting to be part of the journey.

“We are seeing a lot of new faces who want to be involved in the pathway, both as participants and volunteers. That growth is really positive and shows the strength of the para snowsport community.”

With more camps, festivals and development opportunities taking place throughout the season, Snow Australia remains committed to helping athletes of all abilities discover, develop and progress through para snowsports.
