Fordham and de Campo win FIS Continental Cup

With double victories in the final weekend of races, Australian Team athletes Rosie Fordham and Seve de Campo have won the 2025 FIS Australia - New Zealand Continental Cup series (ANC).

The ANC is one of seven cross country skiing continental cup series recognised by FIS, alongside other series including the Scandinavian Cup, the Far East Cup, the FESA Cup (formerly OPA Cup) and the US Supertour. The leaders of each of the cups (or winners in the case of the ANC) gain personal quota places on World Cup.

This is de Campo's third ANC triumph after winning previously in 2022 and 2023. For Fordham, this was her second ANC win in two years, after a previous high of 4th place in 2022.

"It was great to be back home racing with the rest of the Australian XC community and awesome to see so many kids stoked about the sport!" said Fordham after the weekend. "I'm very happy with my performances over the two weekends of national champs and it’s great to have won the ANC again this year."

Fordham made a clean sweep on the ANC, winning each of the Sprint and Distance races in Classic and Freestyle technique. Second place in the series went to Satara Moon narrowly ahead of Hannah Price.

The path to the ANC title was tougher for de Campo after finishing 5th in the opening Freestyle Sprint in Perisher. Coming into the last two races at Falls Creek he trailed Phil Bellingham by 15 points.

"After a poor sprint day in Perisher I had to win both events here in Falls Creek in order to get the points back so there was certainly some pressure," said de Campo. "Credit to Phil and Jayden who are both skiing well. Ultimately, it made for some really fast and exciting racing." With a win in the Classic Sprint putting him into the lead, all de Campo needed to do was finish one place ahead of Bellingham in the last race.

"I was super happy to come away with the two wins and with the level being high it made for great racing experience as we prepare for the upcoming World Cup and Olympic season."

Now that the ANC is out of the way, the focus for both athletes turns to the Kangaroo Hoppet next weekend. Though no longer in the ANC (the Hoppet used to be part of the series), there is still a lot of kudos and also prize money on the line to win Australia's biggest ski race. Having been out of the country at Hoppet time since becoming a senior athlete, this will be Fordham's first time in the main event.

"I’m really looking forward to the Hoppet," she said. "I’ve heard great things about the event so I’m excited to get around it for the first time!"

Registration for the Hoppet is open until 4.00PM on Friday - enter via the Kangaroo Hoppet website.
