Australia’s top mogul skiers delivered a thrilling showcase at Toppa’s Dream at Perisher for the Australia New Zealand Cup (ANC), with Olympic medallists Jakara Anthony and Matt Graham leading the charge against an international field.
Olympic gold medallist Anthony proved unstoppable across both women’s competitions, claiming back-to-back victories and reaffirming her dominance on home snow. She was closely followed by rising star Charlotte Wilson, a World Cup winner and Olympic hopeful, who secured silver in both events.
The women’s podium also spotlighted emerging talent with 16-year-old Talia Manns placing third in the opening event, while Xanthia Coote edged her out for bronze in the second.
Triple Olympian Matt Graham added another chapter to his storied career, winning the solo men’s event and earning his 16th ANC podium and 10th national title. A second victory was within reach, but deteriorating weather conditions forced the cancellation of the final men’s event, denying Graham a shot at the double.
The ANC drew a strong international field, with Japanese athletes claiming both minor podium positions in the men’s competition, underscoring the depth and calibre of the event.
For many athletes, attention now shifts to Mt Buller, where anticipation is high for the ABOM’s long-awaited return. The dual moguls event is renowned for its intensity and spectacle and will once again light up the Chamois ski run, with daytime qualification rounds followed by electrifying night finals in the heart of the Mt Buller village.
