Snow Academy is the umbrella for all of Snow Australia's education and training pathway and programs. Coaching Fundamentals is the first level of coaching accreditation to be rolled out under the Snow Academy.

Coaching Fundamentals

Snow Australia's Coaching Fundamentals consists of online education and practical workshops designed for coaches working predominantly at Interschools, club and domestic level in Australia. The full requirements for Coaching Fundamentals accreditation are available in the Coach Accreditation section of the Snow Australia website.The following Fundamentals 1 e-Learning modules have been developed:

• Introduction to Coaching (pre-requisite for all other e-Learning modules)
• Alpine Fundamentals
• Freestyle Fundamentals
• Snowboard Fundamentals
• Cross Country Fundamentals

Completion of the Fundamentals e-Learning modules also counts towards updating of past Ski & Snowboard Australia Level 1 accreditation.

Discipline specific Practical Coaching Workshops  are conducted periodically. As they become available, the dates and locations of practical workshops will be posted on the Snow Australia website, with notifications  sent out to all registered Snow Australia coaches.

Fundamentals 1 Registration

Course Fee: $50 (incl. GST)

• Including access to Introduction to Coaching and all Discipline modules

Pre-requisites:

• All candidates must have current Snow Australia membership.
• Before becoming accredited, all Alpine, Freestyle and Snowboard coaches must be APSI certified or have been granted an exemption by the relevent National Discipline Committee.

Important note:

Once registered for the Fundamentals 1 online courses, your next step is to set up a profile on the Snow Academy online education portal. Follow the link provided in your registration confirmation and create an account using the same email address used for your Snow Australia membership. You then have access to enrol in the courses.
