National Freestyle Plan

The purpose of this National Freestyle Plan is to outline the National Freestyle Committee purpose, priorities and the overall national organisational structure in line with the Moguls Skiing FTEM model.

The National Freestyle Committee priorities reflects the Moguls contribution to the four key strategic priorities outlined in the Snow Australia whole of sport strategy being:

  • Communication: Improve awareness and understanding
  • Capability: Increase the level of skill and wellbeing of athletes, coaches, and programs
  • Community: Increase participation in Competitive Snowsports
  • Capacity: Increase human and commercial resources

* These priorities will be reviewed continuously as initiatives re completed and evolve.

Snow Australia and the National Freestyle Committee (NAC) have developed a rolling National Freestyle Plan with the purpose to: 

  1. Develop national culture and commitment to long term skill acquisition and fun over early results.
  2. Deliver highly skilled and physically prepared athletes into our Institute programs.
  3. Receive pathway program and judging reports and provide recommendations to pathway program providers and Snow Australia management.
  4. Design year-round training programs and activities that are as efficient and affordable as possible at F3, T1 and T2 levels.
  5. Direct club athlete resources to on snow skill acquisition with some appropriate level and affordable competition starts. (Avoid highcost events).

The National Freestyle Organisational Stakeholders Framework

In support of the National Freestyle PlanThe National Freestlye Organisational Stakeholders Framework has been developed to clearly identify the organisational stakeholders and their core area of function and purpose. 
 
These core areas include:

  • Sport Leadership
  • Pathway Leadership and Delivery
  • Support
  • High Performance Partners

The NAC will establish National and Regional Working Groups to support the leaderships stakeholders to deliver on the National Freestyle Plan. Each working group will reflect the four pillars outlined in the National Freestyle Plan, and will have a project-based and collaborative focus.
 
The Communication, Community and Capacity working groups will include a NAC lead, Freestyle Staff, Clubs and Community representatives as well as Northern Management Committee and members from its sub-committees. The Capability working group will only include our Affiliated Club Head Coaches or Representatives.
