Snow Australia Launches New Snow Skills Health and Physical Education Program
Published Tue 16 Jun 2026
Snow Australia is excited to announce the launch of Snow Skills, a physical education program designed to introduce students to the fundamental movement skills that underpin skiing and snowboarding.
Developed in partnership with the Australian Council for Health, Physical Education and Recreation (ACHPER), Snow Skills provides school teachers with a curriculum-aligned fundamental movement program that supports the development of balance, coordination, locomotion and confidence through engaging, off-snow activities.

The program is designed to be accessible for all schools, regardless of location or prior experience with snow sports. No specialised equipment is required. Snow Skills is delivered using existing school environments, facilities and gymnastics-style equipment.
Under Snow Skills, is two curriculum-aligned 6 lesson program, one for Years 5 and 6, and another for Years 7 & 8. There are ready-to-use lesson plans, activity station resources and video demonstrations, all of which are provided to teachers free of charge.
Created with the support of the Play Well Grant from the Australian Sport Commission, the Snow Skills teacher resources were developed through collaboration with education and sport experts and trialled in schools earlier this year, ensuring the program is practical, engaging and aligned with the needs of both teachers and students.
We encourage teachers to deliver Snow Skills at their school. For access to the Snow Skills teacher resources, complete the Snow Skills Expression of Interest Form here
