The Snow Australia Board held its 201st meeting on 27 October 2025, key updates and decisions included:
Vision 2035 and Strategic Planning
The Board was provided with the draft Vision 2035 document outlining Snow Australia’s long-term goals which include Olympic and Paralympic success, enhanced training facilities, stronger resort partnerships, financial independence, and greater inclusivity. Further feedback will shape the final strategy ahead of a full strategic review in 2026.
Finance
The Board approved the 2025-26 Budget, noting a projected surplus for 2024-25. A portion of this surplus will be considered for allocation to the Snow Australia Future Fund as well as supporting some targeted Olympic / Paralympic Campaign Initiatives to further support athletes in the lead up to Milan Cortina.
NSTC Operations
The National Snowsports Training Centre recorded its busiest domestic season, exceeding usage targets and delivering record participation across gym and airbag sessions. Replacement top sheets for the both the Performance bag and Development bag are proving popular.
Integrity and Governance
New National Integrity Manager Nat Logan-Pye was introduced to the Board. The Risk Appetite Statement was updated to include Cyber Risk and approved for publication. The Board requested confirmation that all Recognised Pathway Programs have met their integrity requirements to operate ahead of the northern winter.
Olympic and Paralympic Preparations
Updates were received on preparations for the 2026 Milan-Cortina Winter Games. Australia is expecting one of its largest teams ever, with up to 58 athletes and 180 delegation members across six competition clusters. Para-sport preparations are also progressing strongly, with around 10 athletes expected to qualify.
