Snow Academy: On-Snow Coaching Workshops

With the domestic season set to open this weekend, Snow Australia is pleased to unveil the first draft schedule of on-snow coaching workshops for 2021.

In the coming weeks, Coaching Fundamentals workshops will be held in the disciplines of Alpine, Snowboard and Freestyle, at various resorts around the country.

Originally due to be launched in 2020, these practical workshops have been a long time in the making.

Snow Australia Coach Education Coordinator Finn Marsland said that he's excited for the courses return to practical workshops in 2021.

"There's been fantastic input from highly experienced resort and club coaches from around the country, and we're all looking forward to rolling out the new content for the first time," Marsland said.

The first Coaching Fundamentals workshops are only open to employees of snow resorts and Snow Australia Pathway Program Coaches, with more courses set to be made available over the course of the season.

"Take-up of the online course has been very promising leading into the winter, with numbers nearly doubling to more than 190 registered participants," Marsland said.

"This bodes incredibly well for the future - quality coaching at all levels of the athlete pathway is essential for long-term development and it's great to have such interest from the snowsports community," he said.
