Perisher XC Update - 14 October Update
AN XC WORK PARTY & AN EOI
XC TRAIL MAINTENANCE BEGINS
PUTTING 2026 WINTER AWAY & PREPARING FOR SUMMER
It is time to pack away the last vestiges of 2026 Winter - the bridge covers and half-pipes that kept the trails open when there was minimal snow cover. These, combined with enthusiastic shovellers and creative groomers magically kept us skiing during record-breaking minimal snowfalls.
Work Party jobs will include packing away the covers and half-pipes, auditing the trails for maintenance requirements, some work around the Shelter and planning for the summer.
Come for one day or two, or even part of a day. Stay the night (thank you CAC Perisher!).
If you can attend all or part of the 7/8 November Work Party #1, contact Peter Ward (nswxc1@gmail.com). Bring work boots, work gloves, PPE, work clothes for any weather, lunch and snacks, crockery and cutlery. The hot water urn, sandwich press, microwave, coffee and tea are available at the Shelter.
Overnight accommodation in Perisher is available for all XC Work Partiers, generously provided by Canberra Alpine Club. If you require accommodation on Friday and/or Saturday night, please contact Margaret Mahoney. Bring bed linen, towels and food/drink for meals – Saturday night dinner is always an interesting social occasion!

NORDIC SHELTER EOIs
