Park and Pipe Coordinator Update - May 2022

Published Fri 06 May 2022

P+P Snow Australia Members,

At the Snow Australia awards last week it was great to see the community back together for the first time in a long while. Congratulations to all the P+P athletes that were nominated: Scotty James, Tess Coady, Valentino Guseli (SB) and Daisy Thomas (FK).
On the night Scotty and Tess shared the Alex ‘Chumpy’ Pullin Outstanding Achievement Award for an amazing year after both claiming medals at Beijing Games.
Valentino Guseli was recognised for a phenomenal WC debut season and won the Junior Athlete of the year award.

A huge resource for HP and developing athletes to achieve these same lofty goals, is the NSTC Park which is set to reopen in the coming weeks and the first images of the newly installed development bag are out.  An exciting winter lies ahead.

The 2022 P+P event calendar will be live next week on the Snow Australia website, It is exciting to see so many events back this year for all levels. Depending on where you are on the pathway and your journey, selecting a few targeted events that help you achieve your individual goals is the way to go. It is not recommended to do every event, as this can impact your progression, by reducing your focus on development time riding and training,
Please speak with your pathway program coaches to identify and target the right competitions for yourself, or reach out for a chat.

Key to making P+P events work is the time and passion that judges commit to the sport. Save the date for P+P Judging clinics scheduled for June 16+17 in Jindabyne. You can check out online resources that are used in the clinics, and start your P+P judging journey now by checking out the FIS Judging Education platform. Clinic registration will open next week.

Finally, don't forget about the upcoming SnowSales in Canberra May 14th and Jindabyne June 11th. So dig out your pre-loved snow sports equipment, and get ready for some bargain hunting.

I look forward to seeing you all back on the hill and at the NSTC Park this winter
Stay safe, Ride hard
