Park and Pipe Coordinator Update - April 2022

Dear Park & Pipe Members,
Following a short hiatus, our monthly P&P community updates are back.
A lot has happened since our last update, most notably the success of our Olympic Team in Beijing. To recognise and celebrate these achievements the snowsports community will be coming together at the 2022 Snow Australia Awards in a few weeks time. The broader snowsports community are welcome to attend and tickets are now available so make sure you book yours early.
Carrying on the Olympic theme, the dates for Interschools FK and SB Slopestyle comps have been released, and with all P&P athletes at Beijing being past Interschools participants, it is clear these grassroots participation events are where the enjoyment of competing is born.

After 2 long years of no overseas travel due to COVID, the National Park & Pipe Committee invited 17 aspiring athletes to Leysin, Switzerland for the P&P Junior World Championships in March, and what an invaluable experience it was for all involved. We are excited to see the athletes build on this momentum year after year.
Finally, with the Development Airbag now installed at the NSTC to complement the current upgrades of the High Performance Airbag the facility is almost ready for a busy winter of training for participants at all levels. Make ure you follow the socials to stay across the reopening date for community sessions.
