Rules Decided at Virtual World Masters Association (WMA) Meeting 4 October 2026. At this recent meeting of National Directors, the following was agreed for Tromsø (and subsequent competitions):

    • Pole lengths will be checked. Reference is made to the applicable FIS rules.
    • The use of skating skis in the MWC’s classic-technique (CT) competitions will not be permitted. According to the FIS rule, classic cross-country ski poles must not exceed 83% of the skier's total height while wearing boots
    • Fluorine Prohibited: No participant in a Masters World Cup may carry (or use) fluorine wax, as this is prohibited under FIS rules. The WMA will work with the Tromsø Ski club and the Norwegian Ski Association to explore ways of carrying out fluorine checks. The WMA’s competition rules will be amended accordingly.

Masters WC Tromsø - change of race order
Instead of Classic long distance on the last day of racing, Thursday 4 March, it will now be Freestyle long distance on the last day of racing. Classic long distance will be on Wednesday 3 March.
