Abi Harrigan competed in the Women’s Ski Halfpipe qualifiers on Wednesday and completed two clean runs, giving her a top score of 40.75, finishing in 27th place. Harrigan usually competes in Ski Slopestyle and Big Air events, but competed in the event in Copper to build on her competition experience and to practice transitions and skills.
“It’s pretty intimidating coming into the halfpipe with limited preparation,” Harrigan said.
“It’s a bit of a different vibe to slopestyle and big air event - the first day was terrifying getting back into the halfpipe but second day was a bit better and the comp day was super fun.
“There is another halfpipe competition in Mammoth where we’re going next, but I am still prioritising Slopestyle and Big Air.”
In the Snowboard Halfpipe, Emily Arthur placed 32nd in the Women’s qualifiers and Valentino Guseli finished 31st in the Men’s.
