Snow Australia is pleased to announce Jacqueline Storer as a new Director on the Snow Australia board.
Her appointment follows the election of Daniel Bosco as Chair of Snow Australia in December 2022, with Dean Gosper stepping down from the role to become the Chair of the Olympic Winter Institute of Australia. Dean remains a Director of Snow Australia.
A former Partner at Deloitte Australia and a passionate skier, Jacky has been an independent member of the Snow Australia Finance, Risk & Governance Committee for six years.
“We are pleased to welcome Jacky Storer to the Snow Australia Board,” said Snow Australia Chair, Daniel Bosco.
“Already a long-term member of the Snow Australia family, Jacky has been a key contributor to our Finance, Risk and Governance Committee. As an active member on our sub-committee over the past six years, Jacky has provided valuable oversight to the progress Snow Australia has made across many aspects of Finance, Governance and Risk.
“She brings a wealth of skills and experience as a former partner at Deloitte Australia in the Risk Services Area and her knowledge and experience will continue to be fundamental to our evolution as a sport with new facilities, expanded staff and long-term future government investment all on our doorstep.
“We are very grateful that Jacky has agreed to accept the role and to continue her active contribution to the organisation,” Bosco concluded.
Jacky said she is looking forward to bringing her business experience and knowledge to the role.
“I welcome the opportunity to play a governance role with the peak body for competitive snow sports in Australia,” she said.
“Snow Australia’s commitment and innovation in raising the profile of snow sports nationally, combined with the expansion of pathway opportunities and athlete development is well acknowledged.
“My role will be to harness this exciting trajectory and recognise the inherent risks and challenges as our sports continue to evolve and grow. I trust that my professional experience will provide the necessary business acumen to decision making and stakeholder engagement that ensures our values and strategic objectives continue to be achieved.
“This new role will enable me to utilise my strengths in leadership and governance to positively influence Snow Australia’s goals of increasing snow sports participation and progressing athlete success on the world stage,” she said.
Reflecting on her role with the Finance Risk and Governance Committee since 2016, Jacky says she is looking forward to taking her learnings from that experience into her new Director position.
“Over time the maturity of the Committee and transparency in reporting, processes and outcomes has improved significantly and I trust that via my new Board role I can continue to evolve that quality and maturity into the future.”
