International Competition and Travel Insurance

With the disruptions caused by the pandemic over the past two years the competition insurance policies that many of our members and athletes have previously relied on when training and competing internationally have been removed from the market. This has caused significant disruption to those eligible to travel and compete overseas this northern winter.
We have been working with our insurance partners for a number of months to find a solution that would provide adequate cover for our National Team and developing athletes, in particular those that are attempting to qualify for the Olympics, to travel overseas. We are pleased to confirm that an insurance policy has been confirmed, however it does come with restrictions which only allows nominated athletes to purchase the policy. Athletes must meet Tier 1, 2, or 3 of the Snow Australia International Travel Policy to be eligible (nominated) to purchase the Competition and Travel Insurance Policy.
For those that are not eligible for this insurance we are continuing to work with our insurance partners to find suitable cover for the broader community looking to travel and compete overseas and will hopefully have more information soon, particularly as the Government travel restrictions ease.
