The 2026 Snowboard Festival has officially landed in Thredbo and Hotham. A fortnight of snowboard racing heaven for all keen riders.

Commencing August 3 in Thredbo, the festival will kick off with the Alpine Snowboard FUTURES camp. National Team athletes Harvey Edmanson and Millie Bongiorno will lead the high-performance training experience for the day.

Riders will prepare for Alpine Snowboarding competition and be exposed to the sports technical elements. Snow Australia Staff, National Team Coaches and athletes will also be in attendance to mentor riders.

On August 4, immediately following the camp, riders have the opportunity to test their skills and preparation from the camp in Thredbo’s Parallel Giant Slalom (PGS) race – links to register to included below.

Thredbo will also host the first two races of the 2026 FIS Snowboard Cross Junior Series Event, from 7- 8 August. For the next generation of snowboard cross competitors, this race series offers a premier opportunity for growth and development.

All attention will then turn to Mt Hotham, starting with the Snowboard Cross (SBX) and Ski Cross (SX) FUTURES camp from August 10 - 11.

SBX FUTURES is a Talent Identification (TID) and skill development initiative by Snow Australia with support from the Olympic Winter Institute of Australia (OWIA) and New South Wales Institute of Sport (NSWIS) Athletes and Coaches. With the program leading into SBX Grom, Youth, FIS Junior, and ANC Races.

Riders participating in the FUTURES camp will experience two days of high-performance on course training with OWIA and the NSWIS SBX teams. 

The program includes on-snow training centered on the technical and tactical skills. Participants will test their racing lines and head-to-head tactical abilities through various course runs.

Mt Hotham will then host the final race (Race 3) of the 2026 FIS Snowboard Cross Junior Series Event on August 12.

Closing out the two weeks of the 2026 Snowboard Festival will be the 2026 FIS ANC Snowboard and Ski Cross Championships from August 13 - 16.
