Damian von Demleux, Chair of Snow Australia’s Northern Management Committee, has been appointed to the ACT Olympic Advisory Committee (ACTOAC).

In an induction meeting held on the eve of Olympic Day (June 23) at the Australian Institute of Sport, Damian and five others with connections to a range of Olympic disciplines including athletics, gymnastics, rowing and hockey were appointed to the newly formed committee.

Von Demleux said it was an honour to be named on the Committee, and he is excited to work closely with his ACTOAC colleagues over the coming months.

“Having only just been appointed, I can already see that there is plenty to do,” von Demleux said.

“But I am honoured to be a part of this committee and to have the opportunity to contribute to the Olympic Movement in this way.”

Snow Australia CEO Michael Kennedy acknowledged von Demleux’s appointment, adding that it is a great recognition for his contributions to snowsports.

“I’d like to congratulate Damian on his appointment to the ACT Olympic Advisory Committee,” Kennedy said.

“It is great recognition for his service to our sport and his athlete advocacy, which has spanned many years and many roles.

“The appointment of a wintersports representative to the committee reaffirms the growth and success of snowsports in Australia,” he said.
