APSI Interschools Scholarship recipients announced

Snow Australia is pleased to announce two recipients of the Australian Professional Snowsport Instructors (APSI) 2021 Interschools Scholarship; Georgia Brose and Arabella Green.
The Interschools scholarship is offered to snowsports athletes over the age of 16 who participate in the Interschools snowsports program.
The scholarship fosters leadership skills in young athletes with the opportunity to attend a level one course and exam free of charge, to further their career aspirations as a snowsports instructor.
Queenslander Georgia Brose started skiing in Interschools as a seven year old. Two years later she competed in her first Interschools snowboard event, only three days after she first strapped on a snowboard.
Now, the year-12 student who competes across most ski and snowboard disciplines, is ready to share her experiences and lessons with young athletes coming through the sports.
“I would like to become an instructor because I enjoy working with people and it is fulfilling seeing people's confidence grow as they learn more skills and can undertake new challenges on the snow,” Brose told APSI when she discovered she had won one of the two scholarships.
“In particular, it is rewarding to work with and provide opportunities for DWA [Disabled Wintersport Australia] athletes to feel successful.
“My goal would be to specialise in working with DWA athletes and watching them reach their full potential.”
Victorian Cross Country skier Arabella Rose said she’s looking forward to being the person that influences a first smile whilst skiing.
“I would love to be able to teach people and introduce them to a sport I love so that they can also share the passion I have for skiing,” Rose said.
“This scholarship would be the first step to achieving this dream as it provides the fundamental experience that will lead me to be able to become an instructor.“
