Emerging snowboard athletes have an opportunity to learn from some of the best in the business as part of Ski and Snowboard Australia’s (SSA) annual SBX Futures Camp happening at Mt Hotham from 3-4 August.

In a big week for Snowboard-Cross, the two-day event will precede the SBX ANC Races which will be held from 5-8 August. This year’s competition is expected to attract a world class field including Olympians, former winners and rising stars.

Those athletes under the FIS age of 15 will again be given the opportunity to race in Australian National Grom SBX Championships.

SBX Futures is an opportunity for snowsport athletes to put their skills to the test in the company of national athletes and coaches who will offer on and off snow mentoring and support. The program gives developing athletes a chance to improve technical and tactical racing elements and off-snow opportunities provide a forum for Olympic athletes to share their personal journey through the SBX pathway. This year’s speakers include Cam Bolton and Alex Pullin who will talk to program participants about their recent World Cup experience.

Bolton, Pullin, Olympic silver medallist Jarryd Hughes, Belle Brockhoff and Adam Lambert are all former SBX Futures participants.

The event offers something for everyone including club coaches, who through ‘SBX Coach Futures’ have the opportunity to attend free-up skilling sessions.
