Scott grew up in Jindabyne and started skiing at an early age.Coming to the sport of Ski Cross from a background in Alpine, Scott was Australia’s only male representative in Vancouver when the sport made its Olympic debut.

He began competing in Ski Cross in 2008 at 18 years, making his World Cup debut in January 2009. At the test World Cup event for the Vancouver Olympics at Cypress Mountain a month later, he placed 15th.

In Vancouver he had a remarkable performance. Qualifying in 12th place he qualified through to the 1/8 and quarterfinals. He placed third in the semi final and finished 7th overall.

Following Vancouver, he became Australia’s first Ski Cross athlete to win a World Cup at Innichen/San Candido, Italy, in December 2010.

Scott had a serious training crash in December 2013 just before the Sochi Olympics, he undertook intensive rehabilitation to get to the start line for his second Olympics appearance.

Since retirement, he has been heavily involved in sports administration. He is the founding and managing director of the Rob Kneller Youth Foundation, a not-for-profit foundation aimed at providing opportunities to the youth of the Snowy Mountains.

He was the 2016 Youth Olympics Young ambassador and 2018 Winter Olympics Athlete Services Manager for the Australian Olympic Committee. Scott is the Executive member of the NSW Olympic Council. In 2021 he was elected chair of the Australian Olympic Committee’s Athletes’ commission.

As senior project manager at Colliers, he led the delivery of the Jindabyne National Snowsports Training Centre, a world class facility for our winter athletes

A director of the former NSW Snowsports association, he is the current Snow Australia Chair for the National Park & Pipe Committee.
