Born in Cooma NSW, Christine learned to ski at an early age and her talent and ability on the slopes became soon apparent. She won the 1961 NSW Junior Champion title before getting her first taste of international competition at age 14, when she was selected in the Australian Team to ski against New Zealand.

Her impressive performances granted her selection for the 1962 St. Moritz Commonwealth Winter Games, a winter sports multi-discipline event which was held only three times, the last in 1966.

After winning the Thredbo Cup in 1963 (a title she would win again the following year), a seventeen-year old Christine went on to record Australia's best result at the 1964 Innsbruck Olympic Winter Games, placing 27th in the Downhill and following that up with a 28th place in the Slalom. Once back home, she completed the sweep of the Australian National Alpine Ski Championships, where she won in Slalom, Downhill and Giant Slalom.

In 1965, while in Europe to recuperate from a ski accident, she was enlisted to teach The Beatles to ski for their film Help! and performed in the movie in a short skiing sequence.

After returning home from the 1966 World Skiing Championships in Portillo, Chile, she became a leading ski instructor in the Snowy Mountains, before establishing her own interior design business in 1974. Christine had been pre-selected for the 1968 Olympic Games at Grenoble, France, but the team was downsized and Christine never got to participate in her second Olympics.
