Like many Aerial skiers, Liz (Elizabeth) Gardner was a gymnast before switching to aerials. 

Gardner made her professional debut in 2001 at the Mt Buller Aerials World Cup. 

Competing at the 2006 Torino and 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympic Games, her best Olympic result was 12th in Vancouver. 

Throughout her career, she competed at four World Championships, her best result a 6th place in Ruka in 2005.

She made 72 World Cup starts and made it to the podium twice with a bronze in Fernie in 2004 and bronze in Sauze d’Oulx in 2004.

Gardner is currently the Aerial Skiing Development Program Lead at the Olympic Winter Institute of Australia. She has been coaching for 20 years with roles as a gymnastics and acrobatic coach, Australian Development Freestyle team coach, assistant aerial coach with Freestyle Canada, along with working in High Performance Gymnastics.
