SEVE DE CAMPO

Name: Seve de Campo

Hometown:

Canberra
Home Australian Mountain: Falls Creek
Australian Club / Team: NSWACT XC
Year of Birth: 1998
When did you begin XC Skiing: I first tried XC skiing when I was in year 6, 11 years old at Mount Buller in Victoria. We were practicing for our first VIC inter schools Xc relay.
Why I love competing in XC Skiing: It has tough uphills and crazy downhills. Racing is about finding the perfect balance in efficient technique, pushing yourself the right amount all the way along the course until you’re exhausted at the finish line, trying to be your best and beat your competitors who are doing the same thing. The venues and destinations are also usually pretty cool.
Favourite race style / distance: Classic 10km
Career highlights / best results:
  • 14th 2023 World University Games 10km classic
  • 51st at the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympic Games 50km Freestyle
  • 17th Oberstdorf 2021 World Nordic Ski Championships Team Sprint
Training advice: Train every day, no excuses. Consistency turns average into excellent.
