| What I love most about XC Skiing: |
I like that its got both technical and fitness components. There's always ways to gain an edge through technical improvements, but the nature of the sport is that you have to go as hard as you can and bury yourself physically to succeed. |
| Favourite place to compete internationally: |
Soldier Hollow in Utah. Its got lots of steep uphills that suit my style and some fun, challenging downhills. I had my first real breakout race there at US Nationals in 2024. |
| Favourite race style / distance: |
10k Freestyle |
| Career highlights / best results: |
2nd in the 10k Skate at U23 World Champs 2025 20th in the 50k Skate at World Champs 2025 |
| Training advice: |
Stay consistent. If you can string together extended training periods without sickness or injury your going to be in a good spot. Don't reinvent the wheel, if you've found a recipe that works keep doing that with small changes to push the envelope each year. |
| When I am not skiing / training I am: |
Doing University work. Trying to finish my stats degree at the end of this winter. |
| Pre-race playlist / song: |
The playlist is called Rave (don't tell Penn) - on spotify. It's a playlist that my college running teammates play at Raves at their cabin in the woods in Fairbanks. I think its sick to be out there dancing in the warmup and prerace - keeps me loose and stoked. |
