Name: Bentley Walker-Broose
Hometown: Cooma, NSW
Home Australian Mountain: Perisher
Australian Club / Team: NSWACTXC
International Club / Team: SVSEF
Year of Birth: 2001
When did you begin XC Skiing: I started as early as Kindergarten in 2007 but decided to shift from downhill skiing in 2013/2014.
What I love most about XC Skiing: I love the sense of accomplishment it gives. Not just results, but the work it takes to get to a competitive level. It’s a constant motivator in life that with hard work and dedication you can drive yourself to be better.
Favourite place to compete internationally: I’m a total sucker for weird venues. I live for racetracks on golf courses or weird paddocks where you’re all waxing out of a worn down shed as a collective. So I’d say anything under that category scratches the itch!
Favourite race style / distance: Skate 10km’s are an absolute riot, but if the conditions are good and the kick is spot on then a classic 10km is unmatched in my opinion.
Career highlights / best results:

General career highlights would have to be the team dynamics and friendships I’ve made during my time as a skier. No race or completion will ever top the experiences and joys I’ve shared with people I’ve spent my time skiing with for so long.

Training advice: Give it your all, don’t hold back. But most importantly, have fun! Skiing will take you so many incredible places so take it all in.
When I am not skiing / training I am: Making ski videos to share my love of skiing, watching movies, catching up on university work and slamming pastries!
Pre-race playlist / song: Anything by Carpenter brut always gets my engine firing. Turbo killer and your mine combo goes insanely hard.
Last Book Read: Nedd Brockmann’s Keep Showing Up.
