Women of Winter: Tickets on Sale for Jindabyne Networking Evening

On behalf of Snow Australia's Women of Winter (WoW), and APSI's Advancing Women in Snowsports (AWS), we welcome you to a in the snow sports industry networking evening to support women to stay involved in Snowsports.

The networking evening is an opportunity to make connections with others employed in our diverse snow industry, and create an awareness of career opportunities within the community.

Whether you are a seasoned professional or new to the industry, this event is aimed at promoting and supporting the presence of women in the industry and increasing awareness of career paths.

The evening will feature a panel discussion exploring coaching and instructing pathways within the snow industry. A group of accomplished women, each with a wealth of experience, will share insights and reflections from their career journeys.

Tickets are $20 per person, which includes canapes. There will also be a cash bar. 

This event is brought to you by the Women of Winter initiative which aims to champion and empower Snowsports Women to reach their full potential through professional development, training and networking opportunities, leading to an increase of women working and volunteering in the Snowsports Industry. In collaboration with Advancing Women in Snowsports, which actively promotes the role of women and creates opportunities to empower females to participate and pursue a career in Snowsports Instruction.

Meet the Panellists 

 

 

nicole parks

A former Sochi 2014 Olympian, Nicole brings extensive experience and insight into coaching and instructing pathways in snow sports. She has held key coaching roles with the NSW Institute of Sport, AUSMSA, and Perisher Winter Sports Club. Nicole is also a certified Level 3 APSI ski instructor and a qualified trampoline and gymnastics coach.

Recently transitioning into sports administration, Nicole now serves as the NSTC Program Coordinator and Emerging Talent Coach at Snow Australia.

 

chloe merry

Chloe Merry is a highly experienced ski professional. She began her career teaching in Thredbo and has worked across major North American resorts, establishing Aspen Snowmass as her ski home since 2013. Chloe has served as coach and program manager for the Australian Aerial Skiing Development Team and is currently a trainer at Aspen Snowmass Ski School and a coach with Aspen Team Divas—a prominent network supporting female ski professionals.

Passionate about gender equality in snow sports, Chloe advocates for inclusive environments, mentorship, and opportunities for women at all levels of the industry. Chloe is alaso a board member with the APSI.

 

GEORGIE LEEL

A lifelong skier, Georgie has dedicated over two decades to coaching, instructing, and developing athletes in snow sports. Starting with work experience instructing at Perisher in Year 10, she has since worked across Australia, Canada, and the U.S. in a range of coaching and leadership roles, including at Whistler and Telluride.

Currently the Head Coach at Perisher Winter Sports Club, she is also a certified FIS Mogul Judge, an APSI Trainer and Examiner, and an instructor and trainer at Telluride Ski & Golf. Her leadership extends beyond the slopes through her role as a member of the Snow Australia Freestyle Committee, where she actively contributes to the growth and future of mogul skiing in Australia.

With a degree in Psychological Science and qualifications as a Health Coach, Georgie brings a strong emphasis on mindset, wellbeing, and holistic athlete development to her work. She is passionate about nurturing talent and supporting athletes to thrive both on and off the hill.

Above all, she’s a proud mum of two — and married to a skier who rips!

 

isla marsh

With over 20 winters of experience across coaching, instructing, and leadership in the snow sports industry, Isla is a passionate and driven professional dedicated to athlete development and advancing gender equity in the mountains.

Currently, she holds multiple head coaching roles — leading the British Army Intelligence Corps Snowsports Team, Thredbo Mountain Academy, and teamPEAK based in the Portes du Soleil, France.

Her previous experience includes coaching and leading age group programs at Perisher Winter Sports Club, as well as extensive work in instructor training, teaching, and athlete coaching.

 

MC - Caroline Brauer 

Caroline, a member of the Snow Australia Women of Winter Working, is the MC for the evening. 

With over 25 years experience in the ski industry, Caroline brings experience across a variety of areas within the industry including resort marketing and communications, business management, retail and instructing. Kicking off her snowsports career as a 16yr old on work experience as a ski instructor in Falls Creek, Caroline fell in love with the industry and went on to instruct in Aspen, Niseko and Thredbo, as well as running a ski lodge in Niseko in the early 2000s.

Fast forward a couple of decades spent getting a university degree, building a successful career in law then marketing/communications and starting a young family, Caroline returned to the Snowy Mountains and became Director of Brand & Marketing for Thredbo in 2019. Caroline now works as Brand & Marketing Director for Pit Viper Australia and Sendy MTB Gear, as well as Owner/Operator of The Arc Skier Development Programs.
