Women of Winter Networking Returns to Falls Creek

Published Tue 21 Jul 2026

The Women of Winter networking series continued at Falls Creek with an inspiring evening last Staurday that brought together women and allies from across the snow industry to explore the theme, Power of Community.

The event welcomed resort staff, adaptive festival families, industry leaders, and community members for an evening of connection, conversation and shared experiences. Women of Winter aims to champion and empower women in snowsports through professional development, networking opportunities and increased representation across all areas of the industry.

Guided by MC Michelle Lovell, the panel featured an outstanding group of speakers including Teagan Atherstone - Senior Supervisor of Snowmaking & Grooming at Falls Creek, Lara Cann - Lift Experience Manager at Falls Creek, and Paralymians Liana France and Mel Perrine.

Drawing on their diverse experiences across resort operations and elite sport, the panellists shared personal stories about the people, mentors and networks that have shaped their journeys. Discussions highlighted the importance of belonging, support and strong professional relationships in building confidence, overcoming challenges and creating opportunities for women across the snow industry.

A key theme throughout the evening was that community plays a vital role in fostering inclusive workplaces and helping individuals thrive, whether they are just starting their careers or are established leaders within the industry.

Snow Australia thanks Michelle Lovell, Teagan Atherstone, Lara Cann, Liana France and Mel Perrine for sharing their insights and experiences, and extends its appreciation to everyone who attended and contributed to a memorable evening. Thank you also to Rich Phillips, VP & General Manager - Hotham and Falls Creek, for his support in the lead up and onthe evening.

Women of Winter continues to build a stronger, more connected and inclusive snow industry by creating opportunities for women and allies to learn from one another, expand their networks and support future generations of industry leaders.
