NSW snow athletes dominated the winner’s list at the recent New South Wales Institute of Sport (NSWIS) Awards, collecting three of the major awards.
The Winter Sports program overall was named the NSWIS Program of the Year after a history-making season that culminated in Australia’s best Winter Games haul.
Moguls gold medallist Cooper Woods added to his awards list, named the Male Athlete of the Year.
Woods was one of three winter athletes nominated for that award, along with Ben Tudhope and Matthew Graham.
Jakara Anthony was recognised after becoming Australia’s most successful Winter Olympian ever. Her dual moguls gold medal in Milano-Cortina was her second career gold, making her the first Australian to become a two-time Olympic champion.
Both Anthony’s and Woods’ stellar seasons earned them a finalist spot in the Ian Thorpe Outstanding Achievement award.
