Snow Australia encourages schools, students, and families to get involved early and be part of another thrilling season of Interschools Snowsports.
“We are planning for even stronger participation levels this year as we continue to focus on creating an accessible and inclusive event environment across multiple resorts,” said Wendy Olsen, National Events Manager at Snow Australia.
The 2025 Interschools calendar will feature 36 event days, offering students across Australia more opportunities than ever to experience the thrill of snowsports. Events will be held at four major resorts: 13 days at Perisher, 4 at Thredbo, 5 at Falls Creek, and 14 at Mt Buller. The season will include Regional, State, and National Championships, maintaining a strong emphasis on participation, fun, and inclusivity.
Students of all experience levels are invited to take part in a range of disciplines, including Alpine GS, Ski Cross, Snowboard GS, Snowboard Cross, Moguls, Ski & Snowboard Slopestyle, Classic Cross Country, and Relay Cross Country. Whether newcomers to the sport or aspiring high-level competitors, students can enjoy a supportive and welcoming event environment.
Interschools remains committed to fostering an inclusive environment by providing opportunities for students with disabilities to participate in both multiclass and able-bodied events. Multiclass competitions - traditionally offered in Alpine and Snowboard GS - will once again be featured at the SUBARU ACT & Southern NSW Championships, the SUBARU State Championships, and the Australian Championships. In 2025, the Northern Interschools Management Team will further support this initiative by piloting an additional multiclass event at the SUBARU Sydney Championships.
Creating pathways for all students to participate, regardless of their ability or background, is at the heart of what the Interschools is about,” said Steve Nelson, General Manager, Participation and Sport Development at Snow Australia. “We’re proud to work alongside our partners and stakeholders to ensure every student has the chance to experience the fun and excitement of snowsports.”
Falls Creek will once again host the Regional NSW Interschool Championships. This event is part of the Falls Creek Schools Carnival, a week-long celebration of snowsports for students, families, and educators. Coordinated by the Northern Interschools Event Management Team, the week will include the Australian Secondary Schools Snowsports Team Championships (ASSSTC), and the Falls Creek Regional School Championships.
A key highlight of the week, the Amelia McGuiness Memorial Time Trials, will take place on Monday 28 July. Open to school-aged competitors, teachers, and parents, the event is not only a chance to enhance racing skills but also an important fundraiser supporting the snowsports community.
Snow Australia extends its sincere thanks to our resort partners - Perisher, Thredbo, Mt Buller and Falls Creek, for their continued support in hosting Interschools events across the country. We also acknowledge the important contributions of our sponsors, including SUBARU, Travelplan Ski, Mogul Ski World, XTM and Karbon, as well as the many schools, families, volunteers, and event teams. Their ongoing commitment helps bring the excitement of the Interschools experience to life each year.
