Snow Australia Hosts Freestyle Judging Clinic in Melbourne

Snow Australia hosted a Freestyle Judging Clinic in Melbourne last week, giving Australian Moguls and Aerials judges the chance to sharpen their skills ahead of the Northern Hemisphere winter season.

Judges from across Australia took part in the 3-day clinic in Melbourne, held on Friday 30 October to Sunday 1 November. The program was delivered by Japan-based FIS Proctor Tina Sundekvist, alongside Australian Head Judge Zoe Dent.

The clinic allowed judges to progress their FIS qualifications locally, whilst also supporting the retention of A, B and C FIS licenses, strengthening judging capability at every level of the competition pathway.

Judges are central to the Australian competition pathway, from grassroots events through to World Cup level. Fair, consistent and well-informed judging gives athletes confidence in results and aids progression.

Developing and retaining qualified judges at home is essential to the growth, quality and integrity of Australian competitions and the pathway that follows.
