Snow Australia Forms Inaugural Athlete Committee

Published Thu 29 May 2025

Snow Australia is pleased to announce the formation of the Snow Australia Athlete Committee.

Bringing together a high-calibre group of individuals, each representing a snowsport discipline, the Athlete Committee is designed to strengthen the relationship between Snow Australia and its athletes.

The announcement follows the recent review and restructure of Snow Australia’s National Discipline Committees. One of the key recommendations of the review was to establish greater athlete representation on each of the discipline committees and form a new Athlete Committee.

Snow Australia President Daniel Bosco said the Athlete Committee would serve as a voice for athletes, offering advice, recommendations, and support on a range of important matters.

“This initiative underscores Snow Australia’s commitment to ensuring that athlete voices are heard and that their needs and perspectives are integrated into the ongoing development of snow sports in Australia,” Bosco said.

“By creating a dedicated group that represents athlete perspectives and provides valuable feedback to the Snow Australia Board, Executive, and Staff, we ensure our athletes remain at the centre of what we do,” he said.

Ski Cross Olympian (2010, 2014) Katya Crema will serve as the Chair of the Committee. Crema is currently appointed to the Snow Australia Board as the Athlete Representative and was recently announced as the Deputy Chef De Mission of the Milano Cortina 2026 Olympic Winter Games Team.

Crema was pleased to see an expansion of the role she occupies on the Snow Australia Board, giving athletes an even greater voice.

“The Snow Australia Athlete Committee is creating a platform for collaboration across disciplines, to share insights and ideas with a view to elevating the support we offer our athletes, at every step of their sporting journey, including retirement and ongoing connections back to the Snow Australia community,” Crema said.

“We are incredibly fortunate to have access to a highly experienced group of individuals who are coming together to support the next generation through the exchange of knowledge and key learnings from their current and previous careers in snowsports,” she said.
