Board Meeting #205

The Snow Australia Board held its 205th Meeting on July 24, 2026, key updates and decisions included:

Strategic Planning and Organisational Development

CEO Ben Wordsworth provided an update on his first 100 days and the development of an operational business plan to support Snow Australia's growth. Work has also commenced on the development of Snow Australia's next 10-year strategic plan, which will help shape the future direction of the organisation beyond 2026.

Governance and ASC Compliance

The Board reviewed ongoing governance compliance requirements and noted progress in implementing succession planning changes and constitutional amendments required by the Australian Sports Commission. These will be progressed ahead of future member consideration.

NSTC Continues to Grow

The Board received an update on operations at the NSTC, which is now operating seven days per week for airbag activities and continues to experience increased participation. Progress was noted on key projects including the rail line development, improvements to facility booking systems, infrastructure maintenance works and ongoing efforts to maximise utilisation of the facility by athletes, clubs and schools.

Park & Pipe Strategy Development

An update was provided on the development of a draft Park & Pipe discipline strategy. Consultation with athletes, coaches and stakeholders has informed the work to date, with a focus on strengthening coaching, athlete pathways, discipline leadership and long-term participation growth.

Athlete Pathways and Selection Processes

The Board discussed recent improvements to scholarship, nomination and appeals processes designed to increase transparency and consistency across disciplines. Further work will now be undertaken to review and strengthen event selection criteria ahead of the upcoming Northern Hemisphere season.

Athlete Engagement and Recognition

The Board discussed opportunities to further strengthen athlete engagement through participation in Interschools and community events. Consideration is being given to more structured athlete recognition, ambassador and philanthropy initiatives which support athlete development while increasing engagement with members and the broader snowsports community.

Integrity and Safe Sport

The Board received an update on current integrity matters and acknowledged the ongoing work being undertaken to manage cases and strengthen integrity processes across the organisation.

Governance Policies Approved

The Board approved a number of governance and operational policies, including updates to nomination, selection and appeals processes as well as corporate governance policies.
