Snow Australia is pleased to announce the athletes selected on the National Alpine Ski Team for 2022/23.

15 alpine and four ski cross athletes have been named among the group, including five athletes who have been selected for the first time.

Snow Australia Alpine Director Shawn Fleming offered his congratulations to the athletes, and best wishes for the upcoming season.

“We are so pleased to announce the 19 athletes selected on the 2022/23 National Alpine Ski Team,” Fleming said.

“This group of athletes has shown an unwavering commitment to their sport through another uncertain year with many obstacles.

“I wish them all the best and look forward to working closely with this group over the coming year,” he said.

After the 2021/22 was disrupted, both domestically and internationally, due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the National Alpine Committee (NAC) used its discretion to maintain selection for all current team members, as well as for the selection of new team members who are early in the performance pathway.

The decision aligns with the current National Alpine Strategy, supporting time for athletes development, for those athletes showing potential to progress whilst at an early stage of the performance pathway.

The 2022/23 National Alpine Ski team also includes five debutants: Phoebe Heaydon (Alpine), Cate Dance (Alpine), Joey Steggall (Alpine), Jesse Quinn (Ski Cross) and Alfred Wenk (Ski Cross)
