National Volunteer Week 2026: Help Put Sport Volunteers on the Map
Published Wed 20 May 2026
To celebrate National Volunteer Week, Snow Australia is encouraging our incredible community of volunteers to get involved and help spread the word.
Building on the momentum from last year, The Australian Sport Commission (ASC) is celebrating the sporting volunteer community again, with ‘Three Cheers for Volunteers’.
Wanting to shine a spotlight on people who keep community sport alive all over Australia, the ASC is literally putting them on the map.
This year the theme of National Volunteer Week is ‘Your Year to Volunteer’.
The purpose behind the theme is to honour the contributions of volunteers and invite people across Australia to make 2026 a year of meaningful involvement, in ways that work for them.
The interactive digital map created by the ASC is set to celebrate the millions of volunteers and provide a national platform to showcase real stories of sport volunteers, from coaches to officials, administrators to event support and countless other roles.
From those who dedicate half an hour a week to those who have been giving back for decades, every story deserves to be highlighted.
Snow Australia encourages all clubs and members to take part, submit a nomination, share your story, and help give our sport volunteers the recognition they deserve.
