FIS Masters Thrills at Thredbo
Published Tue 19 Aug 2025
Thredbo played host to three action-packed days of racing as 30 athletes from Australia, Italy, China and the USA lined up for the FIS Masters.
The field included competitors across generations, with the oldest racer at 91 years young completing all six races.
Across the weekend, changing weather conditions kept athletes on their toes, as sunshine opened the series before a heavy snowstorm rolled in for the second giant slalom.
The event wrapped in perfect racing weather, with a firm, grippy surface setting the stage for the final slalom under blue skies.
In total, four giant slalom and two slalom races were contested on Thredbo’s renowned World Cup track, before presentations were held at the Shuss Bar on Monday afternoon.
The celebrations capped off a memorable event and set the scene for the Masters calendar to continue in Japan and Europe.
