Expressions of Interest Open for Changchun 2027 World University Games

Snow Australia is calling on eligible university athletes to express their interest in representing Australia at the Chanchun 2027 World University Games (WUG).
Expressions of Interest (EOI) open Friday 11 September 2026.
The Games will run from 15-25 January 2027 in Changchun, China, and surrounding venues. This edition of the World University Games features nine sports including alpine skiing, cross country skiing, freestyle/freeski, ski mountaineering, snowboard, and para alpine and para cross country skiing.
Held every two years and organised by the International University Sports Federation (FISU), the World University Games is regarded as one of the biggest events on the international university sporting calendar.
Australian University Sport (AUS) will select the team in consultation with Snow Australia, giving athletes a genuine opportunity to represent their country on the world stage while balancing study and sport.
Athletes who have met Snow Australia’s discipline-specific performance standards are encouraged to nominate themselves for this opportunity.
To be considered, athletes must complete the EOI form and email a completed Eligibility Certificate to Snow Australia General Manager - Sport, Ben Bond, by the closing date below.

Please note Snow Australia does not provide High Performance funding for this event. Athletes are encouraged to seek support through their university sporting organisation. Estimated costs of $3,000–$3,500 per athlete for the full event, covering entry fees, team management, accommodation, meals and transport.
