Community Sports Awards - Celebrating Community Sport Champions

With just one week left until nominations close for the 2025 Snow Australia Community Sport Awards, it’s the perfect time to reflect and shine a light on the outstanding achievements of last year’s recipients.

Each year, the Community Sport Awards (CSAs) recognise the people, programs and initiatives making a lasting impact across the grassroots and development levels of snowsports. From passionate volunteers and inspiring coaches to rising athletes and outstanding schools, these awards celebrate the best of the community.

The 2024 award winners were:

• Service to Snowsports: Susie Warwick, John Sim, David Speirs, Anne Marie Harrison

• Coach Academy Female Coach of the Year: Paris Speirs

• Coach Academy Male Coach of the Year: Jan Vokaty

• Young Achiever of the Year: Callum Cook

• Pathway Excellence Award: Thredbo Mountain Academy

• Outstanding School Achievement: Bright P–12 College

• Male Spirit of Interschools: Oscar Downes

• Female Spirit of Interschools: Seanie Craig

• Emerging Talent Program Athlete Awards:

• Cross Country - Satara Moon

• Alpine - Madison Gilson

• Freeski - Indra Brown

• Moguls - Brad Manns

• Snowboard Cross - Cameron Turner

• Snowboard Park and Pipe - James Garth

• Para Snowsport - Aaron McCarthy

• Ski Mountaineering - Ava McCann

In 2025, the awards will feature nine categories, each with specific eligibility and selection criteria:

• Outstanding School Achievement

• Snowsports Official Award

• Excellence in Technical Officiating Award

• Young Achiever Award

• Emerging Talent Program Athlete Awards

• Coach Academy Award

• Pathway Excellence Award

• Service to Snowsport

New in 2025, the Snowsports Official Award has been expanded and rebranded to recognise not only Technical Officials, but also individuals who support snow sport events in a broader capacity, including school coordinators and event officials at all levels. Eligible nominees may have officiated, coordinated, or supported events from school to national level, with both paid and volunteer contributions welcomed.

Nominations for the 2025 Community Sport Awards are open until Friday 24 October, with clubs, schools, resorts, program providers and Snow Australia personnel invited to put forward deserving individuals and programs. Find out how to submit here.
