Celebrate National Volunteer Week: Help Put Sport Volunteers on the Map

Published Fri 23 May 2025

Snow Australia is proud to celebrate National Volunteer Week (NVW) by encouraging our incredible community of volunteers to get involved and help spread the word.

This year, the Australian Sports Commission (ASC) is giving three cheers for volunteers and shining a spotlight on the people who keep sport alive in communities across the country, literally putting them on the map. The goal is to celebrate the millions of volunteers who bring passion, energy, and commitment to sport across Australia.

In alignment with Volunteering Australia’s theme “Connecting Communities”, the ASC is calling on all Australians to recognise and celebrate the sport volunteers who make a difference. Whether they coach a local team, serve on a committee, or help behind the scenes, every volunteer plays a vital role in connecting people through sport.

To showcase these efforts, the ASC has created an interactive digital map that will highlight sport volunteers from all walks of life, across a wide range of roles, sports, and regions. From those who dedicate half an hour a week to those who have been giving back for decades, every story counts.

Snow Australia encourages all clubs and members to take part, submit a nomination, share your story, and help give our sport volunteers the recognition they deserve.
