The 2026 SUBARU Australian Interschools Championships wrapped up on Sunday, with 3,662 entries from 357 schools across Australia taking part.

A special thank you goes to Perisher and its exceptional teams across Mountain Operations, Guest Services and the Race Department. Their professionalism, dedication and countless hours of work behind the scenes were instrumental in delivering a successful Championships. Despite challenging weather and snow conditions throughout the week, their adaptability and commitment ensured safe, enjoyable, and high-quality courses for all competitors.

Snow Australia would also like to acknowledge the NSWACT Cross Country Committee for its outstanding delivery of the Cross Country program, along with the Snow Australia Para Development Program staff and Special Olympics NSW for their support in delivering the Multiclass event.

Most importantly, thank you to every competitor, family member, team manager, school coordinator, volunteer official, and supporter who played a role in making this year's Championships such a success.

Olympic and Paralympic Athletes Inspire the Next Generation

Throughout the week, competitors were inspired by visits from several Milano Cortina Olympic and Paralympic athletes. The athletes spent time at event venues cheering on participants, taking part in meet-and-greet sessions, and presenting medals at awards ceremonies.

Farewell to the Class of 2026

For many Year 12 students, this year's Championships marked the end of their Interschools journey. We thank them for their contribution to the event over many years and wish them every success in the future, whether that be as athletes, coaches, instructors, officials, volunteers, or within the broader snow sports industry.
