2025 Alpine Snowboard FUTURES and Thredbo PGS Race

The 2025 Australian Snow Season is well underway with huge excitement leading into the Alpine Snowboard FUTURES and Parallel GS competition in Thredbo on the 9th and 10th of August. 

Alpine Snowboard FUTURES is a skill development initiative delivered by Snow Australia with support from the Alpine Snowboard National Team athletes and coaches, and Thredbo resort staff. The program is designed to prepare riders for Snowboard Alpine competition with exposure to technical elements of Alpine Snowboarding, and the opportunity to compete in a Thredbo Snowboard PGS Test event the following day.

This season’s Alpine Snowboard FUTURES will be led by National Alpine Snowboard Team athlete Harvey Edmanson, alongside Coach Leigh Delahoy, and past athlete Christian De Oliveira. 

“The FUTURES event is forging a pathway in Australia for alpine snowboard athletes to compete internationally. Australia has so many talented snowboard athletes and it is very exciting to support them with the opportunity to take their alpine snowboarding to the next level here in Australia. 

For me, as an athlete who truly loves this sport, it is so exciting and rewarding to see so many young athletes who share this passion for snowboard racing. I am thrilled to help this talented next generation of enthusiastic alpine snowboard athletes pursue an amazing sport.” As said by National Alpine Snowboard Team member Harvey Edmanson.

• Access to Discounted Competitor Lift Passes – Instructions on how to access your discounted competitor pass will be emailed to you upon registration should the event go ahead as planned.

Following the FUTURES Thredbo will host a Parallel Giant Slalom race on the 10th of August! 

This new event for 2025, the Thredbo Parallel Giant Slalom race, will showcase snowboarders from 7 years of age and above. Get ready to go head-to-head with your mates and fellow shredders on Thredbo’s legendary Rossignol Race Course! Harvey Edmanson on the new PGS Event: “This inaugural Parallel Giant Slalom race at Thredbo is a really important event for alpine snowboarding in Australia. In the Olympic discipline of Snowboard Parallel Giant Slalom, riders of all ages and abilities can show their skills in qualification and head-to-head finals racing. It will bring together all ages and abilities including World Cup athletes, developing young snowboarders and recreational snowboarders.”
