2021 Snow Australia Community Sport Awards Round Up
Published Fri 19 Nov 2021
The Snow Australia Community came together virtually last week to honour our emerging athletes, volunteers, clubs, schools and development coaches from around the country as part of the 2021 Community Sport Awards.
The annual Community Sport awards event (not held in 2020 due to COVID) was created to acknowledge the athletes, coaches, volunteers, schools, resorts, administrators and programs at the development and pathway level of snow sports, the Awards also importantly recognise the significant service of those who continue to give back to the sport.
After a year-long hiatus, Snow Australia CEO Michael Kennedy said the Awards provided a great opportunity to recognise the hard work and commitment of the snow sports community over the last two years.
“After what has been a challenging two years for our industry and our community, it was great to be able to celebrate those who continue to give back to our sport,” Kennedy said.
“To be able to recognise the achievements of our athletes, coaches, and volunteers is a small measure Snow Australia can take for thanking our community for their tireless work.
“There are so many people who give so much at a grassroots level, particularly over the past two years under incredibly difficult conditions. The Community Sport Awards are a fantastic celebration of that,” he said.
