The 2026 Victorian Junior Championships are organised by VICXC on behalf of the Snow Australia Cross Country Committee.

Who: Age classes from U10 to U23*
* All entrants must be Snow Australia members - either paid XC racers or free Snowracer members.

This is a non-fluor event. The use of fluor wax is prohibited. By entering this event, all competitors are agreeing to abide by this policy.

• U23 (born 2004-2006)
• U20 Junior (born 2007-2008)
• U18 Junior (born 2009-2010)
• U16 Junior (born 2011-2012)
• U14 Junior (born 2013-2014)
• U12 Junior (born 2015-2016)
• U10 Junior (born >2017)

*Age taken as of 31 December 2026

Daily Schedule

Saturday, July 25 - Freestyle Sprint

• 8:30 - Registration / Bib Pick-up @ Nordic Bowl
• 9.30 - Qualification Time Trial
• 10:30 - Finals
• 12:00 - Presentations

Distances

• U10/U12: ~500m
• U14/U16: ~750m
• U18/U20/U23: ~1.0km

After the time trial, athletes will be ranked according to times and seeded into heats. The number of athletes in each heat and number of finals will be determined by the number of participants in each age class. Some classes may be combined if needed.

Start times for heats in each class will be advised on the day. Course details will be made available the day prior to the event.

Sunday, July 26 - Classic Mass Start

• 8:30 – Registration / Bib Pick-up @ Nordic Bowl
• 10:00 – First Start
• 10:30 – Last Starts
• 11:30 – Presentations

Distances

• WU10/MU10: 1.0km
• WU12/MU12: 1.5km
• WU14/MU14: 2.5km
• WU16/MU16: 5.0km (2 laps)
• WU18/MU18: 7.5km (3 laps)
• WU20/MU20: 7.5km (3 laps)
• WU23/MU23: 10km (4 laps)

All events Mass Start in age class and gender (U18/U20 together)

Registration

Race Licences

All entrants must be members of Snow Australia. Free Snowracer membership is available here.

Entrants aged 12 and over without Snow Australia XC Racer membership (Sport, National or International) must purchase a $10 day licence (included in entry fee).

XC Racer membership is available here. Sport XC Racers are also eligible to compete in National Championships and take part in AUSXC Development camps.

Entry Fees

• U14/U16/U18/U20/U23 - $40 per race (XC Racer members)
• U14/U16/U18/U20/U23 - $50 per race (Snowracer members)
• U10/U12 - $25 per race (Any members)

* Discount of $5 per event if entering for both days.

The entry deadline is Thursday, July 24. Late Entry Fee $10.
