2026 Victorian XC Ski Team

The Victorian Cross Country Ski Team provides coaching, training opportunities and support for Victorian junior athletes. 

2026 Program Inclusions

• General coaching and training advice.
• Ability to participate in training camps and other activities (with camp fees).
• Coaching and waxing support at designated events (not including glide waxing, see below).
• Ability to purchase team uniforms (as available).

2026 Coaching Team

The VICXC coaching team for 2026 includes a wealth of experience from the Olympics, World Cup, World Junior Championships and many years of involvement with all levels of the development pathway:

• Tom Hoogenraad / Casey Wright / Charles Hiam / Andrew Paul / Finn Marsland

A combination of these coaches will be available for camps and event support, with potential other recruits.

Team Fee

• $165 (including GST)

Additional fees apply for camps, individual training plans, glide waxing, see below.

Pre-Requisites

Members of the Victorian XC Ski Team must also be financial members of Snow Australia. You will need to be a current member before registering for the VICXC Ski Team. The minimum level is the Cross Country Sport Racer membership, which allows entry into all state and national championship events, as well as other AUSXC development activities.

• July 6-10 - VIC XC Team On-Snow Camp @ Falls Creek (non-residential)
• Spring camp in September TBC
• 2027 April 5-11 - VIC XC Jindabyne Training Camp (incl. Rollerski Races) TBC

2026 Supported Races

Coaching and waxing support will be provided at the following events this winter:

• Saturday 25 July: VIC Juniors - Sprint F @ Falls Creek
• Sunday 26 July: VIC Juniors - Distance C @ Falls Creek
• Saturday 1 August: AUS Open - Sprint C @ Falls Creek
• Sunday 2 August: AUS Open - 15 F @ Falls Creek
• Saturday 22 August: AUS Open/Juniors - Sprint F @ Perisher
• Sunday 23 August: AUS Open/Juniors - Distance C @ Perisher

There are no additional fees for race-day support (only for glide waxing, see below).

Event Glide Waxing

Coaches will provide glide waxing tips and assist with classic waxing for all VICXC members. However, if athletes would like to have their skis glide waxed by VICXC coaches, they will need to pay an additional fee per event to help cover the costs of wax and the services of the coaches.

• Per event glide waxing fee: $20 (per pair, per race)

An online registration page will be set up to enable payment for glide waxing.

Weekend Coaching @ Falls Creek - TBC

During the 2026 winter VICXC will offer a number of weekend training sessions open to all VICXC members. Dates for these sessions will be provided in advance, with specific times and session details confirmed the week before. Some sessions will be included as part of the annual VICXC fee, while some sessions may require additional coaching fees. RSVPs will be needed each week to assist coaches with planning.
