Snow Australia joins Australian Sports Commission Game Plan

The Australian Sports Commission (ASC) is focused on improving the capability of sporting organisations to create an effective and sustainable national sport sector. The ASC supports club development through its free online platform, Game Plan.

Snow Australia is working with its club and performance pathway programs in their engagement on the Game Plan platform, using it as part of the club recognition process. National Pathway & Sport Development Coordinator, Sami Sim, is spearheading the rollout of Game Plan across Australian wintersports clubs and programs. 

"Whilst Game Plan is a requirement of the Snow Australia club recognition process, I see it as an essential conversation starter between club operators and their boards, as well as Snow Australia," said Sim. "It is an opportunity to gain insight into the current capabilities of these organisations.

"Clubs and programs complete modules across areas such as workforce, governance and integrity, gaining access to tools to assist in policy implementation, administration, operation, and ongoing development of their club."

Volunteers are the backbone of every sporting club. No matter the size of a club or program, the ASC Game Plan platform makes it easy for club leaders to assess and analyse information about holistic club operations, to make good immediate decisions whilst developing clear plans for the club’s future.

Snow Australia’s network are not the only clubs completing Game Plan. More than 1700 Australian sporting clubs across 70 different sports including golf, swimming and football are gaining key development and capability growth through their use of Game Plan.

"Ultimately, the better understanding each program has of its own operations, roles and responsibilities and membership base, the better the club is placed for success, regardless of what level of the participation and performance pathway they service," Sim added.
