Reintroducing Australia’s National Alpine Team Ahead of the 2025/26 World Cup Season

Ahead of the first FIS Ski World Cup of the 2025/26 season in Soelden, Austria on October 25-26, Snow Australia is pleased to reintroduce the National Alpine Ski Team, which will remain unchanged for the duration of the season.

This year’s Alpine Team features a mix of seasoned Olympians and exciting new talent, showcasing the growing depth of Australian alpine skiing on the world stage.

Among the 20 athletes named across all Alpine and Ski Cross teams earlier this year, two rising Alpine stars earned national team selection for the first time - Sophie Mahon (Alpine B Team), and Felix Sachs (Alpine D Team) - following standout international performances across the 2024/25 northern winter.

Mahon and Sachs both recorded career-best FIS points results. 

They join an experienced group of Australia’s best, including triple Olympian Greta Small, PyeongChang Olympian Harry Laidlaw, Beijing Olympian Louis Muhlen-Schulte, and Madi Hoffman, who headline the Alpine ‘A Team’.

Snow Australia Alpine and Ski Cross Director Shawn Fleming said the team announcement reflected the growing strength and consistency within the Alpine program.

“Team confirmation is always an exciting moment, and I’d like to congratulate the athletes on their selection and extend a warm welcome to our debutants,” Fleming said.

“Over the past one to two years, Harry Laidlaw, Louis Muhlen-Schulte, and Madi Hoffman have demonstrated that Australians can ski themselves into the top 30 and earn second runs at World Cups. Their success has had a significant impact on the team, inspiring the next generation to lift to that level.”

The 2025/26 FIS World Cup season kicks off this weekend in Soelden, with Louis Muhlen-Schulte set to compete in the men’s Giant Slalom.
