Women of Winter Jindabyne Networking Evening Celebrates Connection, Leadership and Longevity

Published Fri 17 Jul 2026

Women and allies from across the Australian snow industry came together for an inspiring evening of connection, conversation and learning at the Jindabyne Women of Winter networking event held on Sunday.

Hosted by Snow Australia’s Women of Winter initiative and APSI’s Advancing Women in Snowsports program, the evening provided an opportunity for participants from across the industry to build new connections, share experiences and hear from a panel of accomplished leaders working in a diverse range of snowsports roles.

The discussion explored three important themes for women working in the industry: Resilience and Longevity, Health and Wellbeing, and Workplace Culture. Thank you to the MC Caroline Brauer who lead the conversation with the panellists. The panellists Elaine Purser (Talent Development Manager Vail Australia), Shea de Lorenzo (APSI and Snowsports Instructor), and Manuela Berchtold (Olympian and High Country Fitness Owner) openly shared their personal and professional journeys, reflecting on the challenges they have faced, the lessons they have learned, and the strategies that have helped them build long and rewarding careers in snowsports.

Attendees heard valuable insights on maintaining wellbeing in seasonal environments, developing resilience through career transitions, creating supportive workplace cultures, and the importance of mentoring and allyship in helping more women thrive across all areas of the snow industry.

The event also highlighted the strength and diversity of the snowsports community, with representatives from resorts, snowsports schools, mountain operations, coaching, events and industry organisations all contributing to the discussion and networking opportunities.

A special thank you to our panellists for generously sharing their experiences and wisdom, and to everyone who attended and contributed to the welcoming and supportive atmosphere throughout the evening.

The Women of Winter Networking events like these play an important role in fostering connection, championing leadership and helping create a more inclusive future for the Australian snow industry.
