Alpine Officials Course - Snow Academy Course in the Spotlight

Snow Academy is Snow Australia's online education hub providing athletes, coach's, officials and members of the snowsports community with access to specialised courses, accreditations and certifications. You just need to be a member of Snow Australia to access learning.
Throughout the 2025 snow season, we are highlighting courses that are available on the Snow Academy.
The Alpine Level 1 Officials Course is suitable to be undertaken by those involved in Club Races, Snow Australia Children’s Carnival, FIS Races, and Australia New Zealand Cup (ANC).
This course is the first step in your introduction to the fascinating and rewarding role of the Alpine Official.
The course is aimed at beginner volunteer course officials at club events. The course overviews how alpine races are organised in Australia and overviews each course official role.
The course is suitable to be undertaken by those involved in Club Races, Snow Australia Children’s Carnival, FIS Races, and Australia New Zealand Cup (ANC).

There are six units within this course including:
- Structure of Alpine Ski Racing in Australia
- Ski Race Fundamentals
- The Competition Course
- Radio Etiquette
- Ski Cross Specifics
- Para Specifics
The course should take approximately 70 minutes to complete.
How to complete courses on the Snow Academy
1. Active SnowIDMake sure you have an active SnowID (Snow Australia Membership) for 2025. |

2. LoginLog into your Snow Australia account via the Member Login at the top of the website or via the top menu if on a mobile.

3. Access Snow AcademyOnce logged in you should see the Snow Academy button. Simply click this to be taken to your Snow Academy account.

Once you are logged. Navigate to the Officials, Volunteers and Staff Dashboard where you will see a link to the Alpine Level 1 Officials course.
