6 Months on from Milano-Cortina | Jackson Harvey
Published Fri 02 Oct 2026
Jackson Harvey’s path to the 2026 Milano-Cortina Olympic Games was anything but conventional. It took grit, determination, and a two year recovery from a knee surgery.
Six months on from his Olympic debut, the Australian moguls skier reflects on the Games and on what life looks like after a breakout season.
Harvey grew up in Winter Park, Colorado, where the mountain was his backyard and skiing filled his days. In 2022, he made the move to Australia to chase his moguls dream.
As part of the Australian moguls program, his progress was steady, building on his results each year, and the lead-up to the Olympics was his best yet.
That form carried into the Games. Harvey qualified for the eight-man super final, and for the first time in moguls history, three Australian men were within medal contention.
Harvey left Italy with an eighth place in single moguls, an 11th in dual, and a whole lot of experience he’s excited to keep rolling into the next season.
“It was fantastic. It was a great time. The vibes were super high. The whole of Team Australia did really well,” he said.
“I got almost a PB result and made the super final, the medal round.”
“I didn't quite stick my run, but finished up eighth, and got some pretty incredible experience and learned a lot.”
Harvey and the Australian team have just wrapped on a challenging but valuable domestic training block at home, including at the water ramp at the Geoff Henke Water Olympic Winter Training Centre in Brisbane, as well as on snow in Perisher.
He feels he made some great advances during this time at Perisher, and is eager to showcase that on this year's FIS World Cup tour.
“I had some great training this Aussie season. Despite the conditions, we've been super lucky. We'll be heading overseas in November to kick off the World Cup Tour.”
The new season will bring a big step in difficulty for Harvey, and is showing no signs of slowing down.
“I've been working on a few new jumps. So we're up-ing the degree of difficulty next year.”
“Hopefully notch a few more points. I’m super hungry for next season so I want to keep the momentum.”
