Snow Australia HOTHAM FREERIDE FUTURES

We are pleased to confirm that Freeride FUTURES will be going ahead this Friday.

Meeting time and location

Please meet at Hotham Race Club at 9:00am.

Upon arrival, participants will be signed in and issued with a Snow Australia bib, which will need to be returned at the conclusion of the day.

We will begin with a short presentation and discussion led by Quentin Radiguet, Head of Events for the Freeride World Tour Junior and Qualifier. Quentin is responsible for training Freeride World Tour judges and will provide an overview of how freeride is judged, focusing on the five judging criteria: Line, Control, Technique, Fluidity, and Air & Style.

Following the presentation, we will head out on snow. Depending on participant numbers and conditions, we will either split into groups or ride together as one. On-snow sessions will be led by Coen Bennie-Faull, Director of the Higher Freeride Program, and Briony Johnson, Australia's current Freeride World Tour Challenger Series snowboard athlete.

We will return to Hotham Race Club for a lunch break at 12:00pm. Parents are welcome to collect their children for lunch if preferred.  Otherwise, participants are welcome to remain at the Race Club under Snow Australia supervision and eat their packed lunch.

The afternoon will consist of a second on-snow session before returning to Hotham Race Club at approximately 2:30pm. Participants will return their bibs and receive a Snow Australia FUTURES T-shirt before the day concludes.

What to bring

Snow equipment (skis or snowboard)
Helmet
Gloves
Waterproof jacket and outerwear
Packed lunch and water bottle

Backpacks and any spare clothing can be left at Hotham Race Club throughout the day if required.
